Faisalabad: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddique has stepped up scrutiny of drinking water supply system in the city and directed WASA bottling plant authorities to further strengthen quality assurance, sanitation and storage arrangements to ensure required safety standards at every bottle reaching citizens.
During visit to WASA bottling plant, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a detailed inspection of the entire process including water filtration, processing and bottling, and examined the arrangements in place to maintain quality and safety of drinking water.
He also reviewed the procedures adopted for water quality testing and examined laboratory reports and relevant records to assess effectiveness quality-control mechanism of the plant.
He directed the plant management to make sanitation, filtration and water storage arrangements more effective and ensure strict adherence to prescribed standards at every stage of the bottling process.
He stressed that quality testing should be carried out regularly and records maintained properly so that the safety and purity of drinking water could be ensured through a transparent and effective monitoring system.
He said that provision of clean, safe and quality drinking water to citizens was top priority of the district administration and no compromise would be made on the quality of drinking water.
He directed the concerned officials to maintain high standard of cleanliness and quality control at the bottling plant.
He also underscored the importance of continuous monitoring of filtration, processing and storage facilities to ensure that the plant consistently provides safe drinking water to the public.
