DC Larkana chairs high-level meeting to finalize Independence Day arrangements


Larkana: Deputy Commissioner Tariq Manzoor Chandio chaired a high-level meeting at the Darbar Hall on Wednesday to finalize arrangements for the upcoming 14th August Independence Day celebrations.



The meeting brought together key administrative stakeholders, including senior officials from various provincial government departments, law enforcement agencies, and relevant district offices.



Discussions focused primarily on coordinate security protocols, municipal cleanliness drives, illumination of public buildings, and the scheduling of official flag-hoisting ceremonies across the district to ensure a peaceful and celebratory national holiday.



In the meeting, all the concerned officers present were directed to ensure the best possible arrangements in Larkana district regarding the 14th August Independence Day.



On this occasion, he instructed the officers to make proper arrangements at the Municipal Stadium, set up canopies to protect from the sun, and also arrange cold drinking water for the public. He further said that extraordinary cleanliness and sanitation arrangements should be ensured on the city’s major thoroughfares, squares, parks, and event venues and special attention should be paid to beautifying government buildings so that the city presents a festive (Eid-like) appearance.



While giving instructions to the Municipal Officer of the Larkana Municipal Corporation, he said, “You should assign duties to your staff, prepare a contingency plan as well, and send it to us. ” He directed the District Health Officer, Larkana, to ensure staff duties in emergencies, assign duties to doctors to deal with any possible situation, and also submit a report.



While instructing the Rangers and police officials, he said that public safety must be ensured on 14th August, police duties should be assigned, the safety of families should also be guaranteed, and youngsters must be stopped from doing motorcycle wheelies.



He further directed that cleanliness and lighting should also be arranged in the town committees, and national flags should also be hoisted there.



He instructed the Sports Officer to organize sports competitions on the occasion of 14th August Independence Day. He instructed the Forest Officer to plant saplings and make them available to the general public at affordable prices so that they can plant them in their homes.



The Deputy Commissioner directed officers of all departments to hoist national flags in their offices and arrange lighting at night as well. Officials from all departments also attended the meeting.
