Bahawalpur: Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza chaired a meeting to review the proposed improvement and rehabilitation of the Desert Branch Canal in Bahawalpur district. The meeting reviewed the current condition of the Desert Branch Canal, measures to improve the irrigation system, plans to enhance water conveyance capacity and various development interventions proposed under the project. The Deputy Commissioner received detailed briefings from officials of the relevant departments on the technical and administrative aspects of the project, as well as the proposed future course of action. He said improvement of the canal irrigation system and enhancement of water conveyance capacity were crucial for promoting agricultural development and providing farmers with better irrigation facilities.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officials to proceed effectively with the improvement and rehabilitation project while keeping all technical requirements in view. He instructed them to complete all project-related activities according to the stipulated timeline and ensure quality and transparency in the development work. He further directed all relevant departments to maintain effective coordination on the technical and administrative aspects of the project to avoid unnecessary delays and ensure that the benefits of the Desert Branch Canal improvement project reached farmers at the earliest.
