DG Fisheries for effective safety of fishermen’s lives

Quetta: Director General of Gwadar Fisheries Balochistan Atiqullah Khan on Wednesday issued directives to make anti-trawling operations more effective, activate marine patrols, and ensure the safety of fishermen’s lives, property, and livelihoods.



He said this while talking to a delegation led by Haji Khudadad Waju of the Gwadar Fishermen Ittehad called on him.



Discussions focused on curbing illegal trawling, addressing fishermen’s issues, protecting the marine environment, and improving educational opportunities for the children of fishermen during the meeting.



The Director General of Fisheries issued directives to make anti-trawling operations more effective, activate marine patrols, and ensure the safety of fishermen’s lives, property, and livelihoods.



He also assured that priority would be given to consulting the community regarding the utilization of fishermen’s welfare funds.



The delegation emphasized the need for a modern monitoring system and the provision of necessary equipment for patrol teams, while also proposing that welfare funds be utilized effectively for the community’s well-being.
