Lahore: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran on Monday held an open court at his office to address citizens’ complaints and ordered SHOs concerned to take immediate legal action on their grievances. During the open court, citizens presented complaints of various nature, with most cases relating to tenancy disputes, mortgage-related matters and business fraud. The DIG Operations directed the SHOs concerned to ensure immediate legal action and redressal of the complaints in accordance with the law. He said incidents of violence against women would not be tolerated under any circumstances and every citizen would be provided justice.
Faisal Kamran said resolving citizens’ problems at their doorstep was among the top priorities of Lahore Police, adding that open courts were aimed at strengthening the trust between the public and police. He said prompt action on citizens’ complaints helped restore public confidence in the police, while effective monitoring was being carried out at police station level to resolve public issues. The DIG directed all SHOs to remain available at their respective police stations from 3 pm to 5 pm to address citizens’ complaints. He said citizens could visit his office from 1 pm to 3 pm if their complaints were not addressed at the police station level, assuring that their grievances would be resolved.
