Karachi: DIG South Zone Asad Raza chaired an important meeting regarding the security arrangements on the occasion of Rabi-ul-Awwal, on Thursday. The meeting was attended by senior police and Rangers officers, religious scholars, organizers of processions and Milad gatherings, and representatives of relevant institutions.
A detailed review was conducted regarding the main procession as well as other processions, Milad gatherings, security, traffic management, parking, and other administrative matters.
During the meeting, religious scholars and organizers presented their issues, suggestions, and recommendations. Ensuring peaceful religious gatherings and the protection of citizens’ lives and property during Rabi-ul-Awwal is the top priority of the police, said DIG South.
It was decided that foolproof security arrangements will be ensured with the cooperation of all relevant institutions, religious scholars, and organizers.
It was also decided to establish a special WhatsApp group for effective coordinatio
n, which will include police, organizers, and focal persons.
Through the WhatsApp group, security updates, traffic information, emergency notifications, and complaints will be addressed with prompt response.
Instructions were issued to finalize the security plans for all processions and Milad gatherings in a timely manner.
Special monitoring of sensitive locations was directed through the Command and Control system, and continuous liaison with organizers was emphasized.
A commitment was reiterated to promote peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony during Rabi-ul-Awwal. Special prayers were also offered for the stability of Pakistan and for the police martyrs.
