Sukkur: The distribution and installation of Solar Home System kits to eligible families in various districts was continuing under the Sindh Government’s “Roshan Ghar-Roshan Sindh” vision.
According to the spokesperson of the SRSO Head Office on Monday, in this regard solar kits were handed over to 399 eligible families of district Umerkot and Tharparkar.
The solar kits were distributed under the Solar Home System (On-Grid / Off-Grid) project of the Energy Department, Government of Sindh, which was being implemented by the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO).
The objective of the Solar Home System project is to provide reliable, affordable and sustainable energy facilities through solar technology to 2, 75, 000 households in 30 districts of Sindh through a transparent selection process.
The Solar Home System kits were provided free of cost after a transparent screening and verification process as per the eligibility criteria fixed by the Sindh Government for beneficiary families.
The spokesperson said that no fee or price was charged at any level in exchange for verification of surveyed families, distribution of kits and installation services in homes by SRSO.
