Kohat: District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, led a series of operational visits, security reviews, and high-level meetings across the district to ensure robust security arrangements for Chehlum, upgrade police infrastructure, and reinforce law and order.
Chairing a key security conference at the Police Club, SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal reviewed the comprehensive security plan for Chehlum. The meeting was attended by SP Investigation Niaz Muhammad Khan, SP Sadar Ehsan Shah, SP City Khalid Mahmood, SP Headquarters Rooh-ul-Amin, alongside all DSPs, SHOs, and unit in-charges. Detailed instructions were issued to officers deployed at main intersections, entry/exit points, checkpoints, and sensitive locations.
Directing personnel to remain on high alert, the DPO stated that safeguarding mourners and the public is the police’s foremost responsibility, warning that no negligence would be tolerated. He urged officers to maintain professional ethics, patience, and cooperation with citizens while executing their duties. The session concluded with special prayers for national solidarity and peace.
Following the meeting, DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz and Colonel Muhammad Nafay, personally inspected the security arrangements along the routes of Chehlum mourning processions. SP Sadar Ehsan Shah briefed the officers on surveillance measures, access control, and deployment strategy. Inspecting checkposts and routes, the DPO commended the duty personnel for their vigilance and dedication.
Earlier, the DPO paid detailed operational visits to the Police Lines Kohat and Lachi/Billi Tang Police Station. At the Police Lines, joined by SP Headquarters Rooh-ul-Amin and RI Arshad Khan, he inspected the security watchtowers, armory, and MT section records, instructing officials to maintain high standards of cleanliness, security, and administrative efficiency. During his visit to Billi Tang Police Station with SP Sadar Ehsan Shah and SHO Waqar Khan, the DPO inspected the lockup, records, and overall security, directing indiscriminate action against criminal elements and the full utilization of available resources to protect public life and property.
