DPO reviews security for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal


Gujrat: District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Faisal Shahzad chaired a meeting with ulema, members of the District Peace Committee and organisers of Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions to review security arrangements for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.



According to an official source, foolproof security arrangements have been finalised for the celebrations with 2,352 police officers and personnel deployed across the district.



The source said 81 processions and rallies would be held across the district, including 76 Category-C, four Category-B and one Category-A procession.



Elite Police Force teams would patrol important roads, while checkpoints would be established at entry and exit points of the district. A special traffic plan has also been prepared under the supervision of the DSP Traffic to ensure smooth traffic flow.



Police reserves have been constituted to deal with any emergency situation, the source said.



DPO Faisal Shahzad urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activity to police and called upon Ulema of all schools of thought to play their role in promoting religious harmony, tolerance and peace in the district.
