DQCB hears 36 drugs act related violations in Lodhran


Lodhran: District Quality Control Board (DQCB) on Tuesday heard 36 cases regarding violations of the Drug Act during a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (MC) Liaqat Ali Gilani.



The meeting examined cases against medical stores and other violators as well as the explanations presented by medical store owners. The board also deliberated on the departmental course of action in two cases in which cases have been registered.



Medical Superintendent Dr Aurangzeb, CEO Health Dr Azim Riaz, District Drug Controller Naveed Aslam, Muhammad Waqar and Drug Inspectors Mazhar Shabbir and Rais Waseem attended the meeting.



Addressing the participants, ADCG, Liaqat Ali Gilani, stressed strict compliance with the Punjab government’s standard operating procedures while sale and purchase of medicines. He directed officials to ensure effective monitoring of medicines under the Drug Rules and maintain a robust system of check and balance.



The ADCG made it clear that the sale of banned and expired medicines was strictly prohibited and warned that those involved in illegal medical practices would face action under the law.



‘Those playing with human lives must be brought within the ambit of law, ‘ he said.
