Effective policing decreases crime rate


Vehari: Vehari Police registered a significant decrease in crime rate under an effective policing strategy, comparing crime figures of July 2024 with July 2026.



According to a police sources, cases of house-breaking dropped by 93 percent, falling from 45 reported cases in July 2024 to just three in July 2026. Motorcycle-snatching cases also witnessed a major decline of 76 percent, coming down from 25 to six during the same period.



The sources said robbery cases decreased by 61 percent, from 84 cases in July 2024 to 32 in July 2026, while cattle theft cases fell by 40 percent, from 70 to 47 over the two-year period.



The sources said not a single case of dacoity, car-snatching, car theft or kidnapping for ransom was reported throughout July 2026, crediting the improvement to effective patrolling, snap-checking and targeted operations against professional criminals.
