Lahore: Mughalpura police on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly impersonating a police officer and robbing and threatening citizens. According to police, the accused, identified as Abdul Tauheed, had visited a private clinic a few days ago wearing a police uniform and got himself examined.
When the doctor demanded the consultation fee, the accused allegedly intimidated and threatened him. SP Munazza Karamat said the suspect allegedly harassed the doctor at gunpoint before fleeing the scene. Police traced and arrested the suspect with the help of CCTV footage.
Weapons and bullets were also recovered from his possession, police said. During the investigation, the accused was found to have a criminal record involving serious cases, police added. A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation was underway.
