KP to install rainwater harvesting system in all government buildings


Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to install rainwater harvesting systems in all government buildings of the province to conserve rainwater and make it usable.



According to an official notification, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah has directed all relevant government departments to ensure installation of rainwater harvesting systems.



According to official document, a system will be installed in government buildings through which rainwater will be collected and stored and it can be made usable for various needs.



All government departments have also been provided with the design, procedure and technical details for the installation of the rainwater harvesting system.



The estimated cost for the installation of rainwater harvesting system has also been provided to the relevant departments so that practical progress can be ensured on the project.



Chief Secretary has directed all relevant departments to strictly implement the orders for the installation of the system.



A progress report on the installation of the rainwater harvesting system has also been sought from all the relevant government departments.



All departments have been directed to send the progress report to the Chief Secretary’s Office within a week.



The progress report received on the installation of the rainwater harvesting system will be sent to the concerned authorities for further progress.
