ISLAMABAD:Former Senior bureaucrat Prince Abbas Khan and the third son of the former ruler of Hunza state Mir Muhammad Jamal Khan passed away after a brief illness, here, on Thursday.
According to family sources, Abbas Khan, 70, left behind a widow and two sons.
Abbas Khan was commissioned into Pakistan Army as a Captain who later joined the Central Superior Services (CSS) and reached the position of Federal Secretary.
He also held many senior positions at different government organizations during his line of service.
He was considered to be one of the best, most honest, and one of the competent government servants, popular among his colleagues.
He was the brother of Mir Ghazanfar Ali Khan, the former governor and chief executive of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Later Prince Abbas Khan was laid to rest at H-8 graveyard this afternoon. His funeral was attended by a large number of people, including senior government officials, his family and friends, and people belonging to Hunza.
