Chiniot: Four-day Independence Day celebrations organized at Jamia Muhammad Sharif, Chiniot under the patronage of Sahibzada Hafiz Muhammad Qamar-ul-Haq Ziaei on Sunday concluded with a grand ceremony, featuring a range of co-curricular, cultural and sports activities to commemorate Pakistan’s independence. The celebrations included national songs, a book exhibition, cultural displays and a sports festival, while tributes were paid to the founders of Pakistan and the heroes and martyrs of the Independence Movement.
The concluding ceremony was held at the National Rehmatul-lil-Alameen and Khatam-un-Nabiyyin Authority, Zonal Office, Jamia Abad, where speakers paid homage to the forefathers who rendered sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan. Special prayers were also offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs who laid down their lives in the service of the homeland.
At the ceremony, prizes were distributed among students who secured prominent positions in various co-curricular and cultural activities, as well as among athletes who delivered outstanding performances during the sports festival. The initiative provided students with an opportunity to showcase their talents while reinforcing the spirit of healthy competition.
Participants highly appreciated the activities organized by Jamia Muhammad Sharif, saying such programmes play an important role in fostering patriotism, strengthening national consciousness and promoting the holistic development and character-building of students.
