Tarbela: The 79th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated with national spirit and enthusiasm at the Tarbela Dam Project, where General Manager/Project Director Anwar Shah hoisted the national flag during a ceremony held on Friday.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the WAPDA Security Force presented a salute to the national flag, while the national anthem was played on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, General Manager Tarbela Dam Project Anwar Shah congratulated officers and employees on Independence Day and paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the martyrs of the Pakistan Movement.
He reaffirmed the commitment that the Tarbela Dam Project would continue playing its role in Pakistan’s economic development and in meeting the country’s energy and irrigation requirements.
Advisor T-4/T-5 Muhammad Azam Joya, Chief Engineer (Civil) Syed Ali Haider, and other officers and employees attended the ceremony.
The ceremony concluded with the cutting of an Independence Day cake and a collective prayer for peace, prosperity, stability and the security of Pakistan.
