LAHORE:The revitalized Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts is providing young people with structured learning opportunities in classical and traditional music, visual arts and other creative disciplines, helping preserve Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
The Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts offers regular music classes that provide aspiring artists with professional guidance and dedicated practice opportunities. Its music training programmes cover vocal training and instruments, including tabla, harmonium, sitar, sarangi, flute, and guitar.
The Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts combines traditional artistic aesthetics with modern creative facilities, offering a conducive environment for learning, rehearsals, and artistic expression. Following its extensive beautification and decoration, the academy provides an inspiring, visually enriched backdrop that fuels cultural creativity. Its professionally designed acoustic studios and dedicated practice rooms enable students to fully develop their musical skills.
The academy’s interiors feature intricately decorated corridors, spiral staircases adorned with colourful frescoes and cultural paintings depicting historical landmarks, including the Badshahi Mosque and the Taj Mahal. The refurbishment forms part of a broader Punjab government initiative to improve cultural infrastructure and strengthen creative education across the province. The renovated academy is among the facilities being upgraded to provide better learning and working environments for artists, performers and students.
Catering to 14 specialized disciplines, the academy’s classrooms and studios bridge traditional and contemporary artistic expression. Its modern facilities-including dedicated spaces for music practice, visual arts, and Sufi-inspired painting-foster creativity while deepening cultural appreciation.
The year-round programmes aim to nurture emerging talent, strengthen young people’s connection with Pakistan’s artistic traditions and ensure that Lahore’s vibrant cultural legacy continues to thrive among future generations.
