The Institute of Public Health (IPH) has successfully collaborated with the University of Bergen. Norway in the promotion of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) through international academic partnership. research and capacity building.
Under this important and valuable collaboration. two faculty members and four students of the Institute of Public Health. Lahore have successfully completed specialized training in Norway. Both the students have acquired advanced knowledge and practical skills in the field of occupational safety and health. In this training. special attention was paid to the prevention. timely diagnosis and effective management of occupational lung diseases. Drawing on the skills and knowledge gained from this international educational and training experience. trained faculty members and students have developed practical training programs in occupational safety and health tailored to the needs of Punjab. Pakistan. The aim of these programs is to further strengthen the capacity of doctors and medical professionals to equip them with the necessary knowledge and practical skills for timely screening. diagnosis. prevention and effective management of occupational diseases. especially work-related respiratory diseases. This collab
oration is a clear demonstration of how international partnerships can play a significant role in translating global expertise and experience into effective local interventions.
By integrating evidence-based training with practical interventions. the Institute of Public Health is playing a key role in promoting healthy workplaces. protecting workers’ health and further strengthening occupational health services across Pakistan.
