Home Department issues directives for Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations

Lahore: Punjab Home Department has issued directives for special arrangements to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi across the province with religious devotion and due respect.

According to a spokesperson on Friday, sabeels would be established along the routes of major Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions across the province. Major and prominent buildings, banks and offices would be illuminated with green lights to mark the occasion.

On Tuesday, Aug 25, corresponding to 11 Rabi-ul-Awwal, Milad gatherings would be organised at all public and private schools across Punjab, the spokesperson said.

A Seerat-un-Nabi symposium would also be organised in connection with Eid, while sweets would be distributed among prisoners in jails across the province to commemorate the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The Home Department directed that the occasion should be used to promote peace, tolerance and unity among the people.

The department also directed authorities to ensure strict implementation of the issued instructions for foolproof security arrangements during Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

Letters had been issued to deputy commissioners and district police officers across Punjab regarding implementation of the directives, the spokesperson added.
