Imam masjid among two die of electrocution in Swabi


Peshawar: At least two people, including an Imam of a local mosque lost their lives after being electrocuted by an 11,000-volt power line during welding work in Yar Hussain, Swabi.



According to Rescue 1122 on Sunday, rescue personnel provided first aid to the victims before shifting them to a hospital where doctors pronounced both of them dead.



The deceased were identified as 45-year-old Mufti Iqbal, an Imam masjid and 35-year-old Sajid Mahmood, a welder.



The incident cast a pall of mourning over the area when bodies of both the deceased were brought from the hospital.
