Lahore: A sessions court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of MPA Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Sameera, in a case registered over alleged harassment and threats against actress Momina Iqbal.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Nusrat Siddiqui heard the case.
During the hearing, the investigation officer informed the court that the investigation to the extent of Saqib Chadhar had been completed and he had been found involved in the case. The officer further told the court that Sameera had submitted her mobile phone to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) two days earlier and it had been sent for forensic examination.
Momina Iqbal’s counsel, Adnan Ehsan, urged the court to reject the accused’s bail petitions, arguing that their release posed a threat to the actress.
The court directed the lawyers to present their final arguments at the next hearing and extended the interim bail of Saqib Chadhar and his wife until September 3.
The NCCIA had registered the case against the accused following a complaint filed by actress Momina Iqbal, alleging harassment and threats.
