Lahore: Punjab Minister for Communication and Works (CandW) Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic and moral support for the people of Kashmir, saying August 5 served as the darkest reminder of the assault on the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
In a message issued on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, the minister said India’s unilateral and illegal actions could never suppress the spirit of freedom of the Kashmiri people. He said the sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir would not go in vain, expressing confidence that justice and truth would ultimately prevail.
Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth said the continued human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir remained a matter of grave concern for the international community. He urged the global community to play its role in ensuring the protection of the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.
The minister said that Pakistan would continue extending political, diplomatic and moral support to the people of Kashmir until they attained their legitimate right to self-determination. He stressed that the longstanding Kashmir dispute should be resolved in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
He said the entire Pakistani nation stood in solidarity with the people of Kashmir and would continue to support their just and legitimate struggle for their fundamental rights.
