Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that the Seerat-e-Mubarakah of the holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upom Him) is a guiding light for all humanity. The Prophet (PBUH) provided practical guidance and exemplary principles for human beings in every sphere of life. True love and devotion to the Prophet (PBUH) requires us to follow his Sunnah in our daily lives and demonstrate our love for the Prophet (PBUH) through our character, words and actions.
Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab expressed these views while speaking to media representatives after inaugurating ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk’ in Saddar Town.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Mayor said that on the occasion of the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk’ had been reconstructed, renovated and beautified, with special arrangements for lighting and cleanliness in the surrounding area, so that the site could become a prominent symbol of religious devotion and respect.
The Mayor Karachi said that ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk’ represents the love, devotion and respect of the people of Karachi for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He said that the establishment of ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk’ in Saddar Town beautifully reflects the religious identity of the city as well as the love and devotion of the people of Karachi. When the proposal to establish the chowk was presented to him, he immediately approved the initiative, made a commitment and fulfilled that commitment. He said that we are all servants of Mustafa (PBUH), and following the teachings and way of life of the Prophet (PBUH) is an essential part of our faith.
The Mayor said that he always thinks about what kind of initiatives can be undertaken that people will remember for a long time. He said that ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk’ is also a beautiful gift for the people of Karachi. He added that the citizens of Karachi are filled with the spirit of love, brotherhood and respect, and along with development works, efforts are also being made to highlight the historical, religious and cultural identity of the city.
The Mayor Karachi announced that the responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk’ would be entrusted to the people associated with the Electronic Market and appealed to citizens to play their role in protecting and maintaining the chowk.
He said that the administration would continue serving humanity and fulfilling its commitments, while the process of public service would also continue. He further said that love for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is an important part of our faith and that ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk’ has become a new symbol of love and devotion in the city.
On the occasion, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab was also presented with a commemorative shield in recognition of his role in the establishment and development of ‘Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk’.
