Kohat: On the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, police have intensified public outreach through open courts across the district to address citizens’ grievances and resolve their complaints on merit.
Station House Officers (SHOs) are holding open courts at various police stations, listening to public complaints and petitions and issuing immediate directions on matters requiring prompt action. Other cases are being referred to the relevant authorities for resolution in accordance with law.
DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal has directed police officers to ensure timely justice and facilitate citizens in resolving their police-related issues. He also instructed officials to maintain courteous behaviour with the public and ensure impartial and transparent enforcement of the law.
Meanwhile, under the supervision of SP Traffic Akbar Shinwari, Kohat Traffic Police on Thursday launched a crackdown on vehicles and motorcycles displaying non-standard and fancy number plates.
During operations at major roads and checkpoints, illegal number plates are being removed on the spot and violators fined. Police said unauthorized plates violate traffic regulations and hinder vehicle identification, urging citizens to use only officially prescribed number plates.
