Kohat: Kohat Police have arrested several suspects and recovered a substantial quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition during targeted search operations carried out across the district as part of a crackdown on criminal elements and illegal arms.
According to a police spokesperson, the operations were conducted on Saturday on the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat SSP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, with the objective of curbing crime, apprehending proclaimed offenders and ensuring the safety and security of citizens. Senior police officers supervised teams during raids on suspected hideouts in different areas.
During the operations, police recovered illegal weapons, including a Kalashnikov, several pistols, magazines, tear gas shells and a large quantity of live ammunition. Several suspects were arrested at the scene and shifted to the relevant police stations, where further legal proceedings were initiated.
DPO Rai Mazhar Iqbal reiterated the police force’s resolve to maintain peace and security across the district, saying indiscriminate action would continue against elements involved in illegal activities, lawlessness and aerial firing. He directed police officers to remain vigilant and ensure effective enforcement of the law, while further investigation into the cases is underway.
