Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Thursday reviewed ongoing social welfare initiatives and discussed measures to improve services for vulnerable segments of society, including women, persons with disabilities, orphans and other deserving groups.
The review took place during a meeting chaired by Adviser to the Chief Minister on Social Welfare, Special Education and Women Empowerment Malik Liaqat Ali Khan. Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare Muhammad Azam Khan and Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Shafiullah Khan also attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Liaqat Ali Khan said the provincial government, under Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi, was committed to strengthening social welfare, promoting special education and empowering women through transparent and sustainable reforms.
He said close coordination between public representatives and government institutions was essential for effective service delivery.
The parliamentary secretaries highlighted public welfare needs in their constituencies and assured full cooperation for the implementation of welfare and development initiatives.
The meeting also agreed to enhance coordination and monitoring to ensure welfare programmes deliver maximum benefit to deserving people.
