KP Law Minister directs swift completion of flood protection wall in Kohat


Peshawar: Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Aftab Alam on Thursday directed authorities to expedite the completion of a flood protection wall in flood-hit Paya Jawaki area of Dara Adam Khel, saying the project must meet quality standards and be completed within the stipulated timeframe.



During his visit to the under-construction protection wall in Khanawat, Shah Khel, the Minister received a briefing from officials on the project’s progress, construction quality and safety measures. He said the scheme was essential to protecting local communities, agricultural land and public infrastructure from future flood damage.



Later, Alam visited the house of two flood victims of a family, a mother and her daughter, who lost their lives in a recent flash flood in Paya Jawaki. He expressed his condolences, offered prayers for the deceased and prayed for strength and patience for the bereaved family.



The Minister assured the family the provincial government’s full support, saying all available resources were being mobilized for the rehabilitation of flood-affected communities and the timely completion of flood mitigation projects. He said the government stood with the affected families during this difficult time.
