Rawalpindi: Police have arrested a man for making a false emergency call to the Police Helpline 15, with an unlicensed firearm also recovered from his possession.
According to police, the suspect called the emergency helpline claiming that unidentified individuals had attempted to rob him.
A police team responded immediately and reached the reported location to investigate.
However, officers found no evidence that any such robbery attempt had taken place. The caller was subsequently treated as a suspect, and during a search, police recovered an unlicensed weapon from his possession.
A case has been registered against the suspect with Gujar Khan Police station, who has been taken into custody.
SP Saddar Anum Sher said the accused would be presented before the court with substantial evidence in accordance with the law.
