Bahawalpur: A man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the jurisdiction of Musafirkhana Police Station, according to Rescue 1122 and police.
The emergency control room received a call from Sub-Inspector Irshad Kazmi of Musafirkhana Police Station, reporting that a man had sustained gunshot injuries. The police official requested for an ambulance. A Rescue 1122 team along with ambulance was immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, rescue personnel found that the victim had already succumbed to his injuries. ‘According to initial investigation, two unidentified suspects intercepted the man on the road and opened fire, shooting him in the head and neck before fleeing the scene, the police official said. Officials of the Police and the Forensic Science Team also reached the scene and began collecting evidence.
Following completion of the initial investigation and legal formalities, the body was shifted to Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH), Bahawalpur, for post-mortem examination. Police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects.
