Lodhran: Punjab Minister for Health and Population Khawaja Imran Nazir conducted a surprise late-night visit to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital Lodhran to review healthcare services and administrative arrangements.
During the visit, the minister inspected emergency services, the Red Bay, Yellow Bay, Operation Theatre Complex, General surgery ward, Dialysis Unit and the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) section. He also reviewed the availability of medicines, medical equipment and patient care facilities.
Khawaja Imran Nazir interacted with patients and their attendants, asked whether they were receiving medicines free of cost. Patients confirmed that medicines and treatment facilities were being provided without charge and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
The minister also checked the patient facilitation counter and reviewed the hospital’s patient record system. He appreciated the hospital administration for maintaining quality healthcare services and efficient management.
Addressing the issue of pending salaries of lower-grade employees, Khawaja Imran Nazir directed the relevant officials to resolve the matter immediately and announced that janitorial staff would receive their salaries within the next seven days.
He said the Punjab government was committed to ensure free and quality healthcare reached every citizen in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He urged patients and their families to report any negligence, shortcomings or inappropriate behaviour in hospitals.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf, Assistant Commissioner Chaudhry Muhammad Ramzan, CEO Health Dr. Azeem Riaz, MS Dr. Aurangzeb and other officials accompanied the minister during the visit.
