Karachi: Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Muhammad Ali Malkani, Tuesday, emphasized that the adoption of modern reproductive technologies and scientific methods is essential for the development of the livestock sector.
The minister, while presiding over a meeting with a delegation of FONGROW, stated that the Sindh government was taking practical measures to enhance the technical capabilities of local livestock farmers and promote superior breeds and all available resources were being utilized to boost overall production.
Secretary Livestock department Dr. Kazim Hussain Jatoi, Director General Sindh Institute of Animal Health Dr. Nazir Hussain Kalhoro, Deputy Secretary (Livestock) Muhammad Imran and others attended the meeting, said a statement issued here.
The meeting discussed in detail various proposals, scientific initiatives, and collaborative efforts aimed at developing the livestock sector across Sindh, promoting state of the art technology, and significantly enhancing livestock productivity.
During the meeting, cooperation in areas such as artificial insemination, production of high-quality semen, modern farm management, and embryo technology was also reviewed to improve the livestock breeding system.
Muhammad Ali Malkani, speaking on the occasion, termed the transition of the livestock sector in Sindh from traditional methods to modern practices as a critical need of the hour.
The participants reached a full consensus on taking concerted and concrete measures to improve the condition of livestock herds and promote superior breeds in the province.
The meeting concluded with an agreement on launching modern training programs in the livestock sector, ensuring technology transfer, and promoting advanced reproductive technologies on an urgent basis with the collaboration of FONGROW.
