200 fake pensions stopped through digitalization: Mayor Sukkur


Sukkur: Spokesperson for the Government of Sindh and Mayor Sukkur Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh hosted a lavish dinner at Sukkur House in honour of a delegation of the Sindh Information Commission which is on a two-day visit to Sukkur.



The dinner was attended by Sindh Information Commissioner-I Muhammad Saleem Khan, Commissioner-II Noor Muhammad Dayo, Executive Director of the Commission Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh, Advocate Amjad Ali, Deputy Mayor Dr. Arshad Mughal, Director Information Sukkur Ghulam Abbas Goraho, members of the Sukkur Press Club and elected representatives.



Speaking on the occasion, Senior Commissioner of the Commission Muhammad Saleem Khan said that under this law, the first Commission was established in 2018. The Commission is constituted for three years and comprises a Chief Commissioner, two Commissioners and an Executive Director, where implementation is carried out under the law to provide information to the public.



Muhammad Saleem Khan said that to ensure transparency and good governance, the Sindh Information Commission has conducted inspections of Sehwan Development Authority, Sindh Government Services Hospital Karachi and other institutions.



He said that the Commissioners and the Executive Director of the Sindh Information Commission are always available for any kind of contact and guidance.



Noor Muhammad Dayo said that this law is working across Pakistan. He said the Sindh Information Commission is a fully independent and autonomous body which can also exercise the powers of a civil court. Every citizen of Pakistan has the right to obtain information by submitting an application to the designated focal person of the concerned department.



Addressing the dinner, Spokesperson for the Sindh Government and Mayor Sukkur Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh said that the delegation of the Commission has come to Sukkur and is striving to provide relief to the public.



He further said that the entire system of the Sukkur Municipal Corporation will be digitalized within the next 90 days, which will also be available on Android and iPhone apps.



The Mayor said that Sukkur Municipal Corporation is the first corporation in Pakistan where the system of salaries, pensions and other benefits of all employees has been digitalized and made paper-free. The entire record of the corporation is being made paperless.



He said this is excellent work being done and through this system 200 fake pensions have been stopped.



Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh further said that 14th August is approaching, along with Independence Day celebrations we also remember the Marka-e-Haq, in which Pakistan’s image has improved due to the brilliant foreign policy strategy of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
