Multan police finalise Chehlum security plan


Multan: Multan police have finalised a foolproof security plan for Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), deploying over 1, 357 officers and personnel for 29 Majalis and nine processions across the district, on the directives of CPO Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar.



Under the security plan, strict monitoring of Majalis, processions and sensitive locations will be ensured to provide a peaceful and secure environment for mourners.



A total of 29 Majalis, including eight Category-A and 21 Category-B gatherings, will be held in Multan district during Chehlum. Similarly, nine processions, comprising three Category-A and six Category-B processions, will be taken out.



For security duties, 1, 357 police officers and personnel, including four SPs, 10 DSPs, 22 inspectors and SHOs, 224 upper subordinates, 1, 043 constables and 61 lady constables, lady traffic wardens and lady assistants, will be deployed.



CPO Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar directed all officers and personnel on duty to ensure protection of the life and property of mourners under all circumstances, perform their duties with complete responsibility, alertness and professionalism, and ensure continuous monitoring of processions and Majalis, effective checking of routes and full compliance with the code of conduct.



The CPO said maintaining law and order during Muharram-ul-Haram and Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was the top priority of Multan police, and appealed to citizens to fully cooperate with police and the administration to help maintain a peaceful environment.
