Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that there is no precedent anywhere in the world of successful negotiations with armed terrorist groups, stressing that the state must remain firm in its resolve to defeat terrorism.
Speaking in a private news channel program, the Chief Minister noted that the situation in Balochistan cannot be described as either ideal or as bleak as portrayed by certain external narratives. He emphasized that the reality lies between these extremes, and that negative perceptions and one-sided narratives harm not only the province but also Pakistan’s broader national interest and government efforts.
Sarfraz Bugti criticized national media for focusing on Balochistan only during unpleasant incidents, while ignoring positive developments such as youth welfare programs, improvements in public hospitals, the activation of all government schools, and the transparent recruitment of nearly 17, 000 teachers. He said these achievements deserve greater recognition.
High
lighting governance reforms, Bugti explained that new divisions and districts are being created to strengthen administrative oversight, improve service delivery, and bring the state closer to citizens in remote areas. He stressed that smaller administrative units will ensure effective governance, timely resolution of public issues, and integration of underdeveloped regions into national progress.
Chief Minister asserted that global powers and the international community stand with the Pakistani state, not with terrorist organizations. He pointed out that anti-Pakistan elements are being facilitated from Afghan soil, despite commitments that it would not be used against other countries. He alleged that facilitators, financiers, and trainers of terrorist groups are linked to a single Indian network, RAW.

he law, prioritizing the protection of innocent lives.
He warned against attempts by political circles to link terrorism with the state, calling such efforts alarming. He urged Baloch and Pashtun youth to remain vigilant against hostile propaganda and emphasized that national security must be placed above politics.
He reiterated that while dialogue with political parties, elected representatives, and youth is essential to resolve political, administrative, and social issues, armed terrorist groups cannot be engaged in negotiations. Sarfraz Bugti underlined the government’s commitment to economic development, good governance, and effective security strategies, calling for national consensus on eliminating corruption, promoting merit, ensuring fair resource distribution, and advancing electoral reforms.
Chief Minister reaffirmed that terrorism aims not to capture territory but to deprive citizens of peace. He vowed that the state will foil this agenda, while providing youth with education, employment, and me
rit-based opportunities. He pledged that the government will continue reforms to strengthen public trust and ensure peace, stability, and development across Balochistan.
