Over Rs 9bn disbursed so far among registered imams


Lahore: Punjab government disbursed over 9 billion among registered mosque imams across the province during its continued its honorarium programme. According to the Punjab Home Department spokesperson, the provincial government had allocated Rs 21 billion for the programme under which a total of 69, 000 imams had been receiving a monthly stipend of Rs 25, 000 since January 2026.



He added that the department without interruption through ATM cards, ensured a dignified, convenient, transparent and modern payment mechanism. The registered imams were playing a commendable role in promoting religious harmony, social cohesion and public welfare across the province, he added.
