Paras Dero vows efforts to improve facilities, create jobs in Tando Adam

Sanghar: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh Assembly member Sardar Paras Dero has said efforts are under way to provide employment opportunities to young people and improve healthcare, education, sports and other basic facilities in Tando Adam.

He was speaking during a meeting with a delegation of the Tando Adam Press Club at Paras House in Tando Adam. The delegation comprised press club secretary Ashiq Hussain Saand, Imdad Rahi, former presidents Waseem Farooqui and Sheeraz Samoo, Mohammad Aachar Saand and Abdullah Behan.

Mr Dero said that despite limited resources, work had been carried out on the installation of filter plants to provide clean drinking water, improvement of roads and other development projects in Tando Adam. Several development schemes were also under way in different parts of the city, he added.

Regarding the Tando Adam Taluka Hospital, he said he had discussed the hospital’s affairs with the provincial health minister and proposed names of experienced doctors for the post of medical superintendent (MS).

According to Mr Dero, the health minister had informed him that a committee had been constituted to appoint MS in hospitals. He said a fresh proposal for the appointment of an MS had been submitted last week.

Talking about employment, Mr Dero said the PPP had taken steps regarding recruitment to posts in grades 1 to 4 and 5 to 15, but the process had faced delays because of objections from opponents and litigation in courts. Recruitment had been carried out in some divisions, while legal and other issues had delayed the process in some areas.

He said the PPP would fulfil its commitments and provide employment opportunities to young people.

Speaking about sports facilities in Tando Adam, Mr Dero said efforts had been made to establish a major sports stadium in the city, but a shortage of suitable land had created difficulties. He said steps would nevertheless be taken to improve sports facilities and the overall environment at the public school.

He termed the construction of a cricket ground in Tando Adam a positive development for young people and said every possible effort would be made to provide better basic facilities to residents and accelerate development and public welfare projects in the city.

Others present on the occasion included Mukhtiar Ali Umrani, Hasnain Ashiq Saand and others.
