Larkana District Health Officer (DHO) of Qambar Shahdadkot, Dr. Gulzar Ali Tunio, has said that rabies is a dangerous and life-threatening disease; however, it can be prevented through timely precautionary measures, awareness, and vaccination. In his message on the occasion of World Anti-Rabies Day on Thursday, he said that pets should be vaccinated against rabies on time, and unnecessary contact with stray animals should be avoided.



Dr. Gulzar Ali Tunio said that raising public awareness for rabies prevention is extremely important, because in the event of an animal bite or scratch, immediate medical help can save a precious human life. He said that if a person is bitten or scratched by any animal, the affected area should immediately be washed thoroughly with soap and clean water, and the nearest health center or hospital should be contacted without any delay.
