Gujrat: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Monday inspected 30 food businesses across the district as part of an ongoing enforcement drive to ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
According to official sources, the operation was carried out under the directions of Deputy Director PFA Sadia Rafat. During the inspections, 21 food outlets were issued formal improvement notices for failing to maintain standard safety measures.
Furthermore, three food businesses were penalized with fines totaling Rs 26, 000 over various hygiene and procedural violations.
During the operation, the food safety teams also confiscated and disposed of 25 litres of substandard milk on the spot to prevent its sale to citizens.
