Gujrat: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) inspected 54 food businesses across Gujrat district during an enforcement drive to ensure compliance with food safety laws.
According to PFA sources, inspection teams issued 19 improvement notices for various violations and imposed fines totaling Rs107,000 on seven food outlets.
During the operation, one food sample was collected for laboratory analysis, while 8.1 kilograms of expired and prohibited food items and 180 kilograms of ice blocks were discarded.
The PFA said inspection drives and legal action would continue across the district to ensure the availability of safe, quality and hygienic food for the public.
