Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police , honoured the bravery of Pakistan Police officers who laid down their lives defending the nation, offering heartfelt tribute on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan.
‘On the solemn occasion of Youm-e-Shuhada-e-Police (Police Martyrs’ Day), I, on behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan, pay profound tribute to the brave officers and personnel of Pakistan Police who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty in defence of our beloved homeland, ‘ the prime minister said in a message on the observance of the Youm on Tuesday.
He said the police force displayed exceptional professionalism, unflinching resolve, and have steadfastly stood at the forefront of the nation’s fight against terrorism, violent extremism, and crime.
Their distinguished service deserved the nation’s deepest admiration and enduring gratitude, he added.
‘The unforgettable sacrifices of our police martyrs have played a pivotal role in safeguarding the lives and property of our citizens, upholding the rule of law, preserving public order, and reinforcing the writ of the State, ‘ PM Office Media Wing, in a press release, quoted the prime minister as saying.
Today, the prime minister said the entire nation saluted these valiant sons and daughters of Pakistan whose selfless devotion to duty had made their communities safer and their future more secure.
‘On this occasion, we also pay heartfelt tribute to the families of our martyrs whose patience, resilience, and fortitude in the face of immeasurable loss reflect extraordinary strength and dignity. Their sacrifices are an enduring part of our national story, ‘ he further observed.
The prime minister said the welfare and well-being of the families of martyrs remained among the Government’s foremost responsibilities, and they were steadfast in their commitment to ensuring that they received every possible support, including access to quality education, the best available healthcare, and comprehensive welfare initiatives, reiterating ‘Fulfilling this sacred national obligation shall remain an unwavering priority of the Government. ‘
The prime minister also renewed the national pledge to equip Police with every facility and resource required to discharge their vital national responsibilities effectively, adding enhancing their professional capacity would remain a national security priority.
‘Let us reaffirm our collective resolve to uphold the rule of law, safeguard justice, eradicate the scourge of terrorism and crime in all its manifestations, and work together in unity to build a peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation that truly honours the supreme sacrifices of its martyrs, ‘ he reaffirmed.
