Police apprehend 119 absconders in crackdowns during July


Bhakkar: The district police arrested 119 wanted suspects and launched a series of operations against narcotics traffickers and illegal weapons during July as part of a campaign to curb crimes and maintain law and order, the official sources said on Monday.



Under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO), Shehzad Rafiq Awan, the police carried out the operations during the last month, an official statement said.



The police registered 30 narcotics-related cases, seized hashish 8. 435 kilograms, liquor 418 litres and dismantling an operational distillery.



In a parallel crackdown on illegal weapons, the police registered 66 cases and recovered a Kalashnikov rifle, 14 rifles and shotguns, and 51 pistols.



The statement said the operations formed part of broader efforts to strengthen law enforcement and improve security across the district.
