Police arrest inter-provincial drug smuggler, recover ice worth Rs2m

Hyderabad: District police have intensified a crackdown on narcotics following directives from SSP Dr Sumeer Noor Channa.



In a major operation, the SHO of Jamal Shah Police Station and his team, acting on a tip-off during routine patrol, arrested an alleged inter-provincial drug smuggler identified as Khalida, daughter of Abdul Hafeez Pathan, a resident of Jacobabad.



According to a police spokesperson, 1,015 grams of ice (methamphetamine), valued at approximately Rs2 million, was recovered from her possession.



A case has been registered against the accused at Jamal Shah Police Station under FIR No. 15/2026 and Section 9(2)(6) of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 2024. Further investigation is underway.



Police officials said important revelations regarding an inter-provincial drug network are expected during the initial investigation.



SSP Dr Sumeer Noor Channa appreciated the performance of the SHO and his team and directed that operations against drug dealers and smugglers be further intensified.
