Police arrest security guards involved in firing incidents at students

Peshawar: Taking notice of the firing incident on students at Iqra University Hayatabad, the Police acted swiftly and arrested the security guards involved in the incident.



Three Kalashnikov rifles were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused and taken into police custody, while further investigation into the incident is underway.



According to police, the arrested guards were deployed at the university’s security post and the weapons recovered from them were used in the firing. The security guards opened fire when students were protesting for their demands to be accepted.



A police spokesperson said that strict action would be taken against those responsible, and no negligence in the security of educational institutions would be tolerated. He added that the safety of students and staff remains a top priority, and all necessary measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
