Bahawalpur: Police Martyrs’ Day was observed in Bahawalpur with solemnity and national spirit, alongside commemorative events held across the country to honor police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
The central ceremony was attended by Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia, Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Abdul Wahab, former Senator Chaudhry Saud Majeed, political leader Chaudhry Saad Masood, senior government officials, police officers, families of martyrs, and members of civil society.
Participants paid tribute to the fallen officers for their sacrifices in protecting citizens, maintaining law and order, and upholding the rule of law. Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Irfan Kathia described the sacrifices of police martyrs as a priceless national asset, saying their courage and dedication would always be remembered. RPO Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin said the martyrs had sacrificed their present for the nation’s secure future and would continue to inspire generations.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza reaffirmed that the sacrifices of the martyrs would always be honoured, while DPO Rana Abdul Wahab reiterated the police department’s commitment to the welfare, dignity, and continued support of the families of police martyrs.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the departed souls, Pakistan’s peace and stability, and the safety of its citizens. Gifts were presented to the families of the martyrs as a token of appreciation, while officials pledged continued support to the bereaved families in recognition of their loved ones’ invaluable sacrifices.
