Bahawalpur: In line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision of improving public education and healthcare services, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza conducted separate inspections of government schools and the Emergency Department of Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) to review facilities and ensure quality service delivery. The Deputy Commissioner visited Government High School Bahawalpur Cantonment and Government Sadiq Dane Model High School, Bahawalpur, where he inspected classrooms, the computer laboratory, cleanliness arrangements, open spaces, and landscaped lawns.
During the visit, he directed school administrations and the concerned officials to keep computer laboratories fully operational and ensure that students have effective access to modern information technology facilities. He emphasized the greater integration of technology into classroom teaching so that students are equipped with the skills required in today’s digital world. Syed Hassan Raza also instructed school authorities to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and provide students with a healthy, safe, and conducive learning environment that supports both academic excellence and character development.
To enhance the overall educational atmosphere, he directed officials to improve green areas through regular pruning of trees, timely mowing of lawns, and plantation of seasonal flowers and ornamental plants. He noted that a clean, green, and attractive campus contributes significantly to students’ mental well-being, academic performance, and personal development. The Deputy Commissioner further instructed that all ongoing improvement projects in government schools be completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high construction and maintenance standards.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the Emergency Department of Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) to review emergency healthcare services being provided under the Punjab Government’s “Healthy Punjab” initiative. Medical Superintendent Dr. Abdul Rehman accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection and briefed him on the functioning of the Emergency Ward, hospital pharmacy, patient care services, availability of medicines, and overall administrative arrangements.
During the visit, Syed Hassan Raza met patients receiving treatment in the emergency ward, inquired about their health, and spoke with their attendants regarding the quality of medical care, availability of medicines, and other hospital facilities. He emphasized that the provision of timely, quality, and dignified healthcare remains one of the Punjab Government’s foremost priorities and directed hospital management to ensure that every patient receives prompt medical attention without delay. The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the emergency pharmacy and instructed officials to ensure the uninterrupted availability of government-supplied medicines. He warned that negligence or delays in providing medicines to patients would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Reviewing the emergency wards, he also assessed cleanliness, discipline, and infection prevention measures. He directed the relevant authorities to maintain effective sanitation, infection control protocols, and orderly management throughout the emergency department to provide patients and their attendants with a safe, hygienic, and comfortable healthcare environment. The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the district administration would continue to closely monitor both educational institutions and healthcare facilities to ensure the delivery of high-quality public services in accordance with the Punjab Government’s development priorities.
