Lahore: Punjab Acting Governor Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan held a farewell meeting with Azerbaijan’s outgoing Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, at Governor’s House here on Thursday.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, with detailed discussions on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, education, tourism and other areas of mutual interest, said a press release.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan share a longstanding relationship based on mutual trust, shared values and enduring friendship. He stressed the need to further strengthen collaboration in key sectors, particularly trade, energy, education, tourism and investment, adding that both countries should fully utilize the vast opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Acting Governor commended Ambassador Khazar Farhadov for his valuable diplomatic services during his tenure in Pakistan, saying that he played a significant role in further strengthening the cordial relations between the two brotherly countries.
He extended his best wishes to the ambassador for his future assignments and prayed for his continued success.
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their support and hospitality during his stay in the country.
He expressed confidence that the fraternal ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan would continue to grow stronger and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting bilateral cooperation, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
