Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to recruit College Teaching Interns (CTIs) across public sector colleges in the province to overcome the shortage of faculty and meet academic requirements.
The Higher Education Department (HED) has been directed to initiate the recruitment process based on the workload and student-teacher ratio in government colleges to address staff deficits on a temporary basis.
According to official data, a total of 8,084 CTIs were recruited during the 2025-26 academic year with a monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 under specified quota allocations, with tenure fixed at seven months for intermediate classes and ten months for BS degree programs.
Earlier, during the 2024-25 academic session, the provincial government had hired 7,354 CTIs across Punjab for a six-month duration at the same monthly stipend of Rs 50,000.
