Sukkur: Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Wednesday has launched a faculty led initiative to expand its international academic profile.
Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr. Yousuf Khushk chaired a strategic meeting of all foreign qualified faculty members and Deans of all faculties at the VC Secretariat to formulate a roadmap for global partnerships, said a release here on Wednesday.
Dr. Khushk said SALU’s internationally qualified faculty is its greatest strength and urged them to utilize their academic networks, former supervisors and research groups abroad for institutional growth.
The meeting identified four immediate priorities including utilization of HEC’s Faculty Exchange Programme, collaboration for dual, joint and double degree programmes and strengthening collaborative research and improving international visibility of university journals.
Foreign-qualified faculty shared their international experiences and pledged to reactivate their networks for faculty exchange, joint research, publications, and student mobility.
The Vice Chancellor assured full administrative support for international initiatives and invited concrete proposals in the next meeting. It was unanimously decided that the forum will meet monthly to review progress.
Pro Vice Chancellors Prof. Dr. Syed Maqsood Zia Shah and Prof. Dr. Wahid Bux Jatoi, Deans and a large number of foreign qualified faculty members from main and Ghotki and Shahdadkot campuses attended the meeting.
