Dera ismail khan: The district police arrested a seminary teacher after a video showing him allegedly torturing a minor student went viral on social media, prompting District Police Officer Dera to order immediate action.
Acting on the DPO’s directives, SP Paharpur Division Iqbal Khan Baloch supervised the operation, while Paharpur police arrested the suspect, identified as Humayun son of Ikram, a resident of Paniala.
The police registered a case against the suspect and took him into custody, while further investigation is under way. The police said complaints of a similar nature had reportedly been received against the teacher in the past as well.
The DPO said violence against children was an inhuman and unacceptable act which would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He directed police to take strict legal action against anyone found involved in violence or ill-treatment of children, regardless of their position or affiliation.
