Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi has issued urgent safety directives to the owners and administrators of all private schools across the district following persistent monsoon rains to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The district administration ordered school managements to immediately clear roofs, prevent water accumulation, and inspect school buildings for structural vulnerabilities. Administrators were instructed to secure electric poles, hanging wires, and hazardous electrical fittings on campus grounds.
According to a directive issued on Wednesday, school management must conduct thorough structural inspections of rooftops and weak building sections, with explicit orders to report any dilapidated or unsafe infrastructure to the district administration without delay. Students must also be restricted from accessing rooftops or high-risk areas during rainy weather.
The Deputy Commissioner directed school authorities to submit safety compliance certificates confirming that their premises are secure. He warned that strict legal action will be initiated against school administrations found guilty of negligence or non-compliance with safety protocols.
